Todd Scalise studied painting in
Rome, Italy in the early nineties.
Upon his return he graduated from
Tyler School of Art at Temple
University receiving his BFA in
Painting.  He attended Boston
University’s Graduate School of Fine
Arts where he studied under John
Walker, John Moore and Alfred
Lesley.  After graduating with a
Masters in Fine Art, Todd moved to
California to work as a muralist for a
national restaurant chain and a studio
assistant to the late Peter Voulkos.
Moving back to the east coast in 1998,
Todd taught Art History at Penn State
University and settled down to create
an extensive 5-year series of work
entitled ‘New Millennia’.   Recently, a
portion of that work was exhibited in
Brooklyn as a part of the
show, which highlighted several of
Pittsburgh’s emerging artists.  Todd’s
work was also selected this year to
hang in the Andy Warhol Museum as
a part of the AMP show.  Todd’s work
is published, most notably in
Juxtapoz and Parade magazines.
Todd currently teaches Art and
Design at Duquesne University and
Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh,
PA and is an active member of The
Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators.

This month Todd’s work will be on
exhibit at The Lucky Gallery in Red
Hook, Brooklyn as a part of it’s
inaugural show, Beginners Luck.  In
addition, one of Todd’s illustrations
will be featured in the June issue of
The Progressive magazine for an
article written by Howard Zinn
commenting on the escalation of US
armed forces in Iraq.
